The playgrounds, park restrooms and sports fields in the city of Visalia are scheduled to reopen to the public on Saturday, March 20.
“As Tulare County is now in the Lower Substantial Risk Tier – Red Tier of the Reopening Plan for a Safer Economy, our Community Services Department is pleased to announce that playgrounds, Park baths and sports fields will reopen in accordance with state and county guidelines this Saturday,” shares Jeremy Rogers, Community Services Manager for the City of Visalia.
Per California State and Tulare County COVID-19 Guidelines for Youth and Adult Sports, moderate-contact outdoor sports may be played at the red level with an adjusted case equal to or less than 14 positive cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 population.
Playgrounds and restrooms in the park will also reopen to users. The bathrooms will be disinfected twice a day.
“Reservations for sports fields, including soccer, baseball and softball, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis,” adds Rogers. “We are asking visitors to park playgrounds to continue to observe physical distancing and only gather with members of their household to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
Sports field users who wish to reserve space must meet the requirements set forth by the California State Health and Human Services Agency. Additional COVID-19 guidelines, as well as the rental application, are available online at www.liveandplayvisalia.com.
