Yusuf Sharif, who calls himself “Gujari Babu” and “Scrap Babu”, says his luck turned after he accidentally found 13kg of gold in the early 2000s after winning the bid for 21 scrap tanks at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF).

Speaking to ANI, Yusuf Sharif said he saw poverty and he also saw wealth. Now he wants to give back to society and that is why he is joining politics.

Sharif claimed his family had been associated with Congress for many years and had followed DK Shivakumar for 20 years.
