Clevedon United Under 11's Football Team - September 2008
The Rotary club of Clevedon Yeo are proud to be able to sponsor Clevedon United Under 11's football kit for this season.
The under 11's started the season on Saturday 20th September at their Strode road base resplendent in their brand new red kit bearing the Rotary club logo. Rotary club president Richard Johnson, who was present for the first game, said
"This is exactly the type of project we look forward to supporting. To be able to help the young people of the town enjoy their sport is tremendous and we look forward to undertaking further initiatives such as this"

The club can now publish details of two popular events to be held in the autumn...

The first is the annual CLEVEDON PROMS to be held at the Community Centre, Princes Road, Clevedon
    on
Friday the 10th October 2008 . The Cameo Orchestra supported by guest soloists provide an evening
of music and fun, the proceeds of which go to local charities. For tickets please call any of the club
members listed on the Rotary contacts web page. The tickets will again be reasonably priced at
    £6

    Secondly, on the
9th November, the club will again be holding the very succesful GO KART GRAND PRIX
at the raceway in Avonmouth. For a chance to win the prestigious Rotary cup for the first team past
the chequered flag and to have an afternoon of 'thrills and spills' you will need a team of 6 drivers.
    Team entry is
£180 (£30 per driver) and as well as a fun afternoon in a competitive arena, you will be
supporting local worthwhile charities. It is a brilliant way to support a worthwhile cause!
For further details contact any of the Rotarians listed on the
    contacts page on this website

Details of the charities to be supported will be announced in due course.

The Rotary club of Clevedon Yeo was delighted to be able to present a cheque for £600 to Macmillan Cancer Support at its meeting last wednesday (11th June).

The money was raised by the club through its very succesful fundraising programme.

The presentation was one of the last acts of the Rotary year for club President Alan Humphreys.

He will be handing over to the incoming president Richard Johnson at a lunch later this month.

Alan said "I have thoroughly enjoyed my year and the presentation of this cheque is yet another indication that the town of Clevedon has a vibrant and active Rotary club making a real difference to local, national and international projects and charities."

The club is still seeking to attract new members for the forthcoming Rotary year where, amongst other events, it will again be running the succesful Clevedon Proms evening, in the autumn, and the 2nd Go Kart grand prix, a chance for clubs, companies or teams of individuals, to support local charities whilst having a competitive yet fun afternoon.
