So, you're interested in doing your bit for the environment, but you don't know where to start. Well, there are a number of organizations which may be of interest to you. Just 4 miles away is the home of the Yatton and Congresbury Wildlife Action Group, which aims to establish and maintain nature reserves in the parishes of Yatton and Congresbury for the benefit of the public and to advance education in natural history and nature conservation. If you're interested in trees then check out the Forest of Avon website at by clicking here. Its aim is to bring together organizations and like minded individuals to create greener and healthier places across 221 square miles of landscape in Bristol and the surrounding area. On a national level, the Woodland Trust is the UK's leading charity, dedicated solely to the protection of our native woodland. The Trust acquires woodland sites and manages and protects them for everyone's enjoyment. Membership of the Trust costs £2.25/month single, or £3.00/month joint. Life membership is also available for a one off donation of £350 single or £500 joint.
