Festival Day 2006 & Clevedon Community Centre Summer Fayre

Princes Hall on Saturday 17th June from 2.00pm to 6.00pm

This year the Lions Club of Clevedon is working in conjunction with Clevedon Community Association [CCA] to arrange an afternoon of indoor and outdoor entertainment for the whole family at Princes Hall, Sunhill House and Sunhill Park on Saturday 17th June from 2.00pm to 6.00pm. The intention is to raise money for both the Community Centre refurbishment and Lions designated charities for 2006 which includes the CCA and also Andrew House in Clevedon.

An extensive number of events are in the pipeline for the public's entertainment. The wide ranging number of groups, clubs and societies that use the Community Centre and Princes Hall will be putting on demonstrations, exhibitions, manning stalls and organising a variety of activities. The Jubilee Lounge will be open selling alcohol and soft drinks and the Centre restaurant will be providing cream teas. The Lions barbecue/bacon butty stall will be situated outdoors and additional outdoor entertainment in Sunhill Park is lined up on the same grand scale as in the Precinct on previous years. This includes the Bob Reynolds New Society Jazz Band, The Davies School of Dance cheerleading group, the Clevedon Cougars, a giant slide, jousting tournament game, candyfloss stall, mini roundabout, young children's' sports activities and a display from the Hawk & Owl Trust. Many Charity stallholders, Clevedon's ATC and ACF groups and local Scouts are also being asked to take an active part. It is also hoped to persuade a local celebrity to open the event.

A short flier will be produced and distributed to all Junior Schools to advertise the event and a programme, priced at 50p, will be on sale at various venues, through the societies etc taking part and "on the door" which will act as an adult entry fee. The programmes will be numbered and entered in a raffle to be drawn on the day.
