Clevedon's Sporting Heroes profiles 50 of the outstanding sporting personalities connected with the Town since 1945. Within
the text over 650 sportspeople are mentioned through comment or photographs. The town is home to two former world champions David Bryant and Bob Anderson, channel swimmer Steve Price, New World Karate Champion, Rory
Daniels and sailing prodigy Nathan Batchelor. Burgeoning Welsh rugby international Huw Bennett learnt his game here as did rising athletic stars Kate Reed and James Thie. Clevedon also featured in the careers of Test
cricketers Andy Caddick and Geraint Jones, a number of professional footballers and many others. Also remembered are those from an earlier sportscene such as Jack Freeman, Son Hack and Bert Price. |
