The Victorian pier was opened on Easter Monday 1869 and was very popular with visitors and residents alike. However, disaster struck in 1970 when the end section collapsed during weight testing. After much fund raising organized by the Clevedon Pier Trust, it has been restored to its former glory and was officially reopened in May 1998. A must for every visitor to Clevedon. |
